Bus Pass renewals now live online

Bus Pass renewals now live online
04 March 2021

Older Person’s bus pass holders in Darlington, whose pass is due to expire on 31 March, can now renew their pass using the new online bus pass service.
The online service will go live from Thursday 4 March and Older Person’s pass holders will need to renew before 31 March if they wish to travel from 1 April. Being able to offer an online bus pass renewal service will provide a safer way to renew as it will limit unnecessary face to face contact.

The council’s dedicated bus pass web page has now been updated with a step-by-step guide along with a frequently asked questions (FAQ) section to help address common concerns. A quick ‘how to’ renewal guide will also feature in the March issue of One Darlington, the Partnership magazine that goes to all local households.

Councillor Andy Keir, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for Transport, said:

“The renewal service is now live and pass holders have almost four weeks to renew their pass. I would advise any pass holder who is unsure about renewing online not to rush or panic but to ask for help from family or friends.

“Around 13,000 passes are set for renewal in this period and we want to make the process as smooth as possible. The step-by-step guides are there to help as well as the FAQs.

“If anyone is really struggling, they can call the Concessionary Travel Team helpline during office hours 01325 406699 or email: [email protected]

Disabled passes have been processed and posted out, if anyone hasn’t received their pass by 1 April, they are asked to contact the Concessionary Travel Team.  Older Person’s passes that expire on or before 31 March will need to be renewed online.
