Thanking foster carers for all they do

The hard work and dedication of foster carers is being celebrated during Sons and Daughters Month.

Every October, the national Fostering Network shines a spotlight on foster carer and all they do for the children in their care.

This year, we are joining the celebration and sending thank you cards to foster carers and vouchers to the children in their care to thank them for the support they give.

Councillor Jon Clarke, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “This month is all about appreciating and thanking the children of foster carers for their dedication and commitment to fostering which transforms children’s lives in Darlington and across the country.

“The card and vouchers are a small gesture to acknowledge all they do. Without their hard work and love many children in Darlington would not have a caring and supportive home, giving them the best start in life.”
