National awards success for social work team
23 November 2021

A TEAM of social workers is celebrating after winning a coveted national award for their work.

The Keeping Families Together Team was a gold award winner in the Team of the Year category at the recent Social Worker of the Year awards.

The awards, held at a virtual ceremony last week (Wednesday 17 November), recognise social workers’ outstanding efforts during the last 12 months.

The Keeping Families Together team has been in place for several years and was recently expanded as part of the Strengthening Families programme.

Joseph Robb, interim service manager for the Keeping Families Together team, said: “This would not have been possible without the dedication, courage and personal approach of each member of the team. I am so proud of their can-do attitude.”

Councillor Jon Clarke, Cabinet member for Children & Young People, said: “This is an incredible and prestigious achievement. To have this talented team recognised in this way, on a national level, is a real testament to the work they are doing with families and the positive outcomes being achieved.

“I want to personally congratulate each and every member of the team for their drive, vision and commitment – not to mention a great deal of hard work. It’s fantastic their efforts have been recognised.”

The awards have 12 categories in total across children’s and adult services – for individual social workers and teams.
