Call out for businesses
Over the past year more than £45m in support and grants was given to Darlington businesses as the team helped to administer the Covid grants available from national government. It is feared that, for future grants and support, there may be some businesses who are unaware that they may qualify for help.
The team sends out a regular update of news to around 500 Darlington businesses. This includes links to local and national news, business success, case studies and also details of grants, training and funding that is available to local businesses. It is hoped that more and more businesses sign up to receive the newsletter updates to make sure they don’t miss out on vital news and help
Councillor Alan Marshall, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration said:
“Communication is key if we are to make sure our businesses are aware of the help and support on offer to them. We know that many small business owners are very busy, and we want to make things as simple as possible so they don’t miss out on local news and opportunities that will help them survive and thrive.
“We use lots of ways to reach our businesses with important messages and our monthly newsletter is always well received; we want to make sure that none of our local businesses miss out on these important messages.”
