Ice trail is coming to town!

Ice trail is coming to town!
05 December 2023

The popular ice sculpture trail is set to make a welcome return to the town centre on Saturday (December 9) from 11am – 4pm.

Families are invited to search for different festive sculptures around the streets and yards in the town centre. There’ll be ice selfie spots and the chance to see live ice sculpting throughout the day.

Trail maps will be available on the day but for the first time the trail is available on the Darlington Trail App. You can download the free app by searching Darlington Trails in the app store on your android of IOS device.

Darlington Christmas Market also takes place this weekend, from Friday to Sunday, with lots of gift and food stalls in the Market Square, East Row, Horsemarket, West Row and the indoor market.

Chris McEwan, cabinet member for economy, said:  “The ice sculpture trail is always a great event and, following the successful Christmas light switch on, it’s a great way for everyone to enjoy the festive spirit.

“The new trail app makes it even easier for people to get involved and find all the sculptures. I hope people will also take the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping at the market, visit our fantastic independent shops and grab a hot drink and some food in one of the many restaurants and cafes in the town centre.”
