Dolphin Centre pool re-opening date

The main swimming pool at the Dolphin Centre is to reopen at 6.30am on Friday 26 January following essential maintenance work.

Work is continuing on the toddler pool and walkway, so alternative access arrangements will be in place when the main pool reopens. These will be clearly signed to customers.

The toddler pool, slides and poolside showers will continue to be out of use for the time being, and will be available for visitors to enjoy in the spring.

Councillor Matthew Roche, Cabinet member for health and housing, said: ““I’m delighted to confirm that the much-loved main pool at the Dolphin Centre will be reopening shortly, following much needed care and attention.

“I appreciate that this has been a long programme of works and there are still some to complete, but I know staff at the Dolphin Centre are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the main pool.

“We have invested in maintenance work for the pool to ensure we have a pool that people in Darlington can continue to enjoy for many years to come and I would like to thank everyone for their patience while the work has been taking place.”
