Cllr Chris McEwan, cabinet member for economy said: "We are committed to ensuring Darlington is one of the best places to live, learn, work and invest in the UK. Events like this help to raise aspirations and support people to realise their potential so that they can earn more, live well and stay healthy. Ensuring local people have the right skills to capitalise on the opportunities available in the area also helps to attract further inward investment from businesses seeking to benefit from the knowledge, skills and expertise of our local workforce - supporting the continued growth of our local economy."
