Busy tackling pot hole concerns

Busy tackling pot hole concerns
08 March 2019

We have 572km of roads to maintain across Darlington and are determined to improve the condition of the roads across our borough.

We have invested more money which has enabled us to fix more pot holes and we are also doing a lot of work to prevent potholes appearing.  A good example of this is micro asphalting works which has seen over 100 residential streets treated in 2018 with more work planned for 2019.

We will repair every pothole that needs repairing and monitor others to make sure the road remains safe. We have repaired 5648 pot holes this year. The numbers needing repair have dropped by 30% in recent years meaning less potholes are on now appearing on our roads but we want to improve further.

The roads are regularly inspected but pot holes can appear during adverse winter weather so we rely on the public letting us know so we can check their concerns.  If you see a pot hole please report it to us using the link below so we can carry out the appropriate repair work.
