What is All About Me, for children

Creative life story work logo

All About Me is a creative space to help you to understand who you are today, explore what's happening right now, and tell us your hopes and dreams for the future.

What are Creative Experiences?

You will have the chance to take part in All About Me Creative Experiences, alongside a trusted adult (such as
your foster carer or social worker). Creative Experiences will be supported by an Artist and a Therapeutic Social

There will be six All About Me Creative Experience sessions in total, as well as an introductory session, each lasting ninety minutes.

Between April 2021 and September 2021 sessions will take place online. During All About Me Creative Experiences, you will be supported to think about the following themes:

  • Who am I?
  • What are my favourite things?
  • How do I feel?
  • Who is in my life?
  • Who do I live with?
  • What plans do I have for the future?

You can choose how much or how little you share in these sessions. You will have the chance to create something to document your involvement and keep forever, too.

Other children and young people, and their supporting adults, will be there too. There will be up to fifteen children / young people and adults present.

Before taking part you will have the chance to choose which Artist you would like to work with. We will make the sessions as accessible for you and your trusted adult as possible.

First step

You can choose which Artist you would like to work with. Please take a look at each of the Artists pages to help make your decision, your trusted adult will be able to help you with this

Before sessions start

We will confirm which Artist your child will be working with. We will also confirm the dates and times of each session, and provide you with a link to access them online.

You will be supplied with all of the materials (a creative pack) for the online sessions approximately one week before the introductory session.

This creative pack is an essential part of All About Me Creative Experiences - we ask that the pack is kept safe and to hand, ready for your child / young person’s weekly online sessions.

Please log into the online sessions so that you arrive on time.

After each session

After each session We will ask you and your trusted adult to tell us how things go.

We will listen to your feedback and make any changes we can to support you to be involved. You will have the choice to share what you have created with your social worker and independent reviewing officer.
