Would you like to help children and young people incare and get paid for it?
We’re looking for care experienced people to join the peer mentor team in Darlington, where yourknowledge and experience will help younger, less experienced children and young people who are in care.
You’ll have between 1 and 4 young people (mentee’s) to support by spending time together doing ordinary things (like having a coffee or going fishing, walking, gym), you’ll be there for them and share the benefit of your experience to help them whilst they are in care.
The hours are flexible to suit you both and vary depending how many people you support, although there is a minimum commitment of 11 per month. We’ll give you all the training you need, and you’ll have the support of a great team who really want to make a difference for children and young people cared for by Darlington.
This is a sessional role (you’re paid for the hours youwork) until March 2026.
