Inspired by the ideas of local children, Enchanted Forest is a magical interactive space with storytelling trees, luminous fairy ponds and musical lily pads. It is designed for a child to play in with their grown-ups and there are elements for crawlers and toddlers right up to children around 10 years old. Some children will spend just a few minutes in the forest, others will enjoy playing for longer. You are free to come and go as you please and also enjoy our family friendly cafe area at The Hullabaloo. There is no need to book, but please note that at busy times there may be a short wait.

Join Chris Connaughton at The Hullabaloo this Easter for The Lion and The Mouse from Aesop's Fables for ages 2-5 years. The Lion and the Mouse Lion is asleep when Little Mouse runs right across his nose and wakes him up. Lion is furious and threatens to open his big jaws to swallow him. “Oh please, great King,” cries Little Mouse: “I didn’t mean to wake you. Let me go and I will return the favour one day I promise”. Lion doesn’t believe such a little Mouse could ever be able help him, but is so amused he lifts his paw and lets him go. Weeks later, Lion is caught in a trap. Who will come to save him? Could Little Mouse really help the king of the jungle? A tale to teach us that kindness is more important than strength and even the smallest of us can make a difference. Craft Activities There will be an ‘Animal Mask making’ craft at The Hullabaloo on 16 & 17 April between 10am – 2pm. Hare is so confident and certain he will win, he takes a nap while Tortoise keeps going, slowly and steadily plodding along to the finish line. But who will win? A tale about not giving up, and winning in unexpected ways. Craft Activities There will be an ‘Animal Mask making’ craft at The Hullabaloo on 16 & 17 April between 10am – 2pm. Join Chris Connaughton at The Hullabaloo this Easter for The Boy Who Cried Wolf from Aesop's Fables for ages 5-7 years. The Boy Who Cried Wolf After days and days of watching his father’s flock of sheep, the shepherd’s son gets bored. Desperate for some attention, he cries “Wolf! Wolf! There’s a wolf!” Hearing the cry, the villagers charge up the hill to fend off the wolf only to find that the boy had tricked them. A few days later, the boy cries “Wolf! Wolf!” Once more. Again the villagers come to his rescue only to find it is yet another lie. But what will happen the third time, when real danger strikes? Will the villagers believe the boy or will they ignore his cries for help? A tale about telling lies and the consequences. Craft Activities There will be an ‘Animal Mask masking’ craft at The Hullabaloo on 16 & 17 April between 10am – 2pm. The Cornmill Shopping Centre will be putting on an egg-stravagant array of events for kids on Friday 19th April and Monday 22nd April.

On Good Friday, families will be invited to hop along to the centre for free Easter themed activities from 11am until 3pm. The Cornmill centre will be holding an Easter bonnet making workshop where children will be able to create their own fancy hat.

On Easter Monday, from 11am until 3pm, There will also be an arts and crafts station where children can get stuck into the Egg Cup decorating and Charlie Chick will be making special appearances at the centre throughout the day.

Queen Street will be holding an egg- stra special Dumbo themed event on Easter Monday, between 11am and 3pm. The event is free and will include a treasure trail and a trunk full of elephant themed things to do

On Saturday 20 April at the Indoor Market, children's crafts will include ripping, sticking and gluing to make 'Easter Chicken Shelf Sitters'. Submit your form before 4pm for a chance to win a chocolate prize!

We’ll be creating our very own version of Wonderland with a very special tea party, mad hat making, games within the woods, and a trail of things to discover.
