On Friday, 29th September 2017, a Notice of Vacancy [pdf document] was published and displayed advising of a casual vacancy in the office of Borough Councillor for the Mowden Ward, following the resignation of Councillor Bill Stenson. A request to hold a by-election to fill the vacancy was received, by the Returning Officer, from two local government electors within the local authority area, and the election took place on Thursday 16 November 2017.
