This role will include engaging with customers within the showroom to provide them with product advice and information on a range of teamwear, sporting equipment & accessories. It will involve taking orders/ payments from customers and maintaining stock levels. You will need to ensure the showroom is kept tidy & presentable.

The job role is varied and interesting and responsibilities include:

  • Providing an outstanding level of general front of house customer service
  • Ensuring customers are attended to with efficient and courteous service
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to customer enquiries
  • Monitoring stock rotation and maintaining stock levels
  • Receiving incoming goods
  • Opening packaging lines
  • Housekeeping duties
  • Cash handling
  • Website updates

 Training

Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (as required)

Training will take place periodically at our training centre and/or remotely as required. Here you will learn the theory elements of the course, gaining the knowledge to complete the qualifications.

Automotive Retail Motor Vehicle and Maintenance Technician [Light Vehicle] (Level 3)

Vacancy Details

The vacancy will require the successful applicant to carry out all aspects of motor vehicle repair including:

  • Servicing and maintaining company vehicles in line with manufacturers’ requirements
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the service department or customers about any necessary repairs
  • Preparing cars for pre-MOT
  • Pre or post repair inspections
  • Basic diagnosis of faults

The position will also include assisting in the diagnosis of electrical faults and the replacement of vehicle components from a range of systems including:

  • Engine management systems
  • Cooling systems
  • Emission control systems
  • Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) systems
  • Electronic parking brake systems
  • Electronic steering systems
  • Electronic suspension systems
  • Transmission systems
  • Interior electrical systems
  • Security and alarm systems

The position is physically demanding and requires the applicant to work under vehicles, which potentially could have been driven in the wet or snow. Workshop areas can be cold with temperatures at some points being that of the legal minimum. Travel to the placement (DL10 4TG) will be expected four days per week and one day per week to DL1 4QZ for training.

 Training

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship - motor vehicle service and maintenance technician (light vehicle)

Moorlands is a family run business offering a full range of services for older people in Darlington and the surrounding area. As well as a nineteen bed care home we provide day care services, a full range of domiciliary services, an old fashioned meals on wheels service and a laundry service.

The vacancy will require the successful applicant to carry out the following:

  • To assist the daily routine of the care home
  • To assist residents in all aspects of their personal care
  • To assist in activities
  • To maintain good levels of housekeeping
  • To maintain good levels of hygiene
  • To assist residents with their mobility needs
  • To work as part of a team
  • To assist residents during mealtimes, this may include serving meals or supporting the individual to eat and drink
  • To record information into appropriate documents
  • To maintain confidentiality

 Training

You will complete the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Care
  • Functional skills in maths and English (as required)
  • Care Certificate
  • End Point Assessment 

You will also complete on and off the job training that will include the following aspects:

  • Daily routine of the clients
  • Personal care
  • Levels of housekeeping
  • Residents hygiene

Training will take place periodically at our training centre and/or remotely as required. Here you will learn the theory elements of the course, gaining the knowledge to complete the qualifications. Training will also take place in the workplace and be delivered by our training staff and staff from the Care Home. You will be required to produce a showcase portfolio of evidence and complete an end point assessment at the end of your Apprenticeship which will be graded pass, merit or distinction.
