Latimer Hinks is a discreet niche law firm with a national presence providing specialist and bespoke services in private client, property and agricultural law for 125 years+. Their accomplishments and achievements have been built upon their quiet and understated approach and their ability to provide legal services usually only expected from city-based firms. Latimer Hinks require an apprentice to fulfil a position that will involve providing support to Reception, the Post Room and Accounts Department, as well as Secretarial staff and other administrative staff to provide clerical and administrative support.

Other duties include:

  • Reception duties including answering the telephone and dealing with clients face to face and passing of messages
  • Taking responsibility for opening files including setting up physical files and inputting data into the case management system
  • Undertaking safety tests
  • Using basic Microsoft packages
  • Scanning, sending post and saving it into the bespoke IT system
  • Producing, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Ordering stationery
  • Inputting key dates
  • Tidying office environment
  • Other duties as required

Training

Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (as required)

Training will take place periodically at our training centre in Darlington (DL1 5AJ) and/or remotely as required. Here you will learn the theory elements of the course, gaining the knowledge required to complete the qualification.

Progression

This position could lead to full time employment and/or progression to related courses.

NL Commercials is a family owned vehicle rental company supplying vehicle hire solutions to customers for over 35 years. From car to minibus and from small van to curtain side truck, whatever vehicle customers require, they stock the solution. The firm requires an outgoing and friendly individual to work in a busy team. The successful applicant will be required to assist other members of staff, perform general housekeeping duties and be productive carrying out maintenance and repair of light vehicles.

Duties include:

  • Servicing and maintaining company vehicles in line with manufacturers requirements
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the service department or customers about any necessary repairs
  • Preparing cars for pre-MOT
  • Pre or post repair inspections
  • Basic diagnosis of faults
  • Other duties as required

Training

Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:

Darlington Borough Council is local authority in the NE East of England that serves the people of the Darlington Borough. It has around 2,000 employees and is part of the Tees Valley Combined Authority. There is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity within the HR service where we will support you with learning the fundamentals of the HR service and encourage you to get involved in lots of upcoming projects as well as the day to day running of the busy service. Duties include:

  • To provide front line support to managers and employees as part of a HR team
  • To undertake a range of business support tasks such as managing your own emails, filing, copying, scanning, faxing, archiving, post, answering the telephone and taking messages.
  • To help develop and maintain efficient administrative systems and processes which support the delivery of HR
  • To input, update and audit records both manually and electronically on multiple systems, including dedicated HR Systems, extracting basic information within set parameters and producing required reports
  • Undertake tasks as required which may be of a sensitive and confidential nature
  • Copy typing from notes, including completing standardised templates
  • To provide HR support via by telephone, email and face to face and ensure that queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently
  • To carry out routine invoicing and create purchase orders
  • Take notes at meetings as required
  • To provide facilities management including setting up rooms for meetings/training ensuring the required equipment and resources are available and assisting attendees where special requirements are needed
  • Perform diary management functions for officers in HR including arranging and re-arranging meetings and room bookings
  • To be an effective and flexible team member to ensure that requirements are met
  • Other duties as required
