Risk description
The product poses a risk of choking as when tested according to the tension test, the magnetic rod detached at a force of 44 N and fits entirely within the small parts cylinder. A young child may place the magnetic rod into their mouth and choke. The magnetic flux index of the magnet was found to be 113.61kG2 mm2, greater than the limit of 50kG2 mm2. If two or more magnets were swallowed, there is a risk that the magnets become drawn to each other in the digestive system, which could cause serious injury or death if medical attention is not sought immediately. The bag made of flexible plastics containing the toys has an area of 18 mm x 185 mm but its average thickness is 0.023 mm, (which is less than the minimum permissible of 0.038mm), posing a potential asphyxiation hazard to young children. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
