Conclusions
This strategy sets out how, by adhering to the vision, Adult Social Care (ASC) will seek to put in place digital developments for the foreseeable future.
Any new technologies will be planned with engagement across the service; Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and workforce development and in line with the vision of the strategy and measures of success. This will ensure we deliver a real benefit to the service and the people we support.
Although technologies will change and evolve, the principles of user involvement and a skilled workforce are the basis of our approach.
Despite this being a digital strategy it must be acknowledged that digital has its limits. To date, not a single technological innovation has been able to reproduce the qualities of empathy and compassion that form the fundamental core of the very best care and support practices. Nothing can be better than face-to-face interaction; but we can look to digital to help us be more efficient, more effective and more responsive.
