Hazard
The product presents a high risk of fire as the plug fitted to the main supply cord is fitted with an unsafe fuse which does not meet the requirements of BS 1362. If the consumer were to use this power supply, an electric fault could occur and the fuse may explode. Additionally, the mains supply cord had excessive resistance.
The product does not meet the expected mechanical requirements to ensure persons, domestic animals and property are not endangered as no cord anchorage was fitted. The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
