A rotating display stand with a battery-powered remote as well as a 9 V wall plug for the product itself
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the insulation could break down during normal use. If the user were to touch the metal part of the casing whilst the item is switched on and the insulation fails resulting in the item becoming live, the user could receive an electric shock.
The product's plug is non-compliant as the dimensions of the sleeved parts of the pins differed from the metal parts of the pins. This resulted in a distinct step between the two and may cause damage to the socket and undue wear and tear to the sleeve.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
