Planning application forms
From the 1st November 2016, the Council stopped offering informal planning advice as it was not legally binding.
If a legally binding opinion is required we recommend a homeowner applies for a Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Use or Development under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. This legally binding certificate is often needed by lenders before they release funds.

- We only require 1 copy of the form and supporting documents.
- In line with the 2018 GDPR regulations you should only use the forms linked below, not previous versions.
Biodiversity Net Gain
Biodiversity net gain (BNG) is a new legal requirement that developments (unless exempt) need to comply with from 12 February 2024 onwards. It requires developments to leave the natural environment in a measurably better condition by insisting that all sites give back a 10% biodiversity uplift.
