Suzy: "I started at the Library back in 2008 and Laura joined me in 2017. As a team we put on sessions and events for families to enjoy and try to encourage reading in the home and book borrowing. Our Rhymetime sessions are very popular with around 170 under 4’s attending weekly for stories, songs and rhymes. We hold weekly Lego Clubs for children of all ages every Saturday and provide large scale one off events such as BookFest, Bookstart in the Park and Harry Potter Night.

"Darlington Libraries held more than 60 events this summer for children aged 0 – 16 years as part of our Summer Events Programme. We had everything from magicians to storytelling, planetarium experiences and animation workshops. On top of that, there was incentives for reading books over the summer holidays with free tickets for the Gamers Lounge and Create and Paint up for grabs for anyone who borrows books.
