Who do you keep information about?
We keep information about residents of the Borough who are entitled to an assisted refuse/recycling collection & information and Street Champions who carry out street cleansing within the Borough.
Why do you keep information about me?
We keep information about you for the purposes of providing an assisted collection for members of the public who require assistance.
The Council has a legal obligation to provide facilities for disposal of household waste. This service is provided to those who are unable to present their waste without assistance.
Enables Darlington Borough Council staff members to contact Street Champions when needing to get in touch with issues arising.
Who can see my information?
Access is restricted to the management of waste collection services, street scene coordinators, customer services advisors and crew members carrying out the collection.
Information on Street Champions is restricted to directorate support staff, ward Councillors and street scene coordinators.
How do you store the information you keep about me?
The information is stored within a database.
How long do you keep information about me?
We keep your information for as long as we provide you with an assisted collection service or are a Street Champion. We securely destroy this information when we no longer need it.
How did the Council get my personal data?
The information we have is information with has been provided by you or your representative.
What sort of information do you keep?
We may use the following information about you to make sure that we provide you with the right service, advice or support. We will only use the minimum amount of information necessary to do so and will take every reasonable step to ensure the information is accurate.
Personal data:
- Name
- Location data
- One or more factors specific to the physical and physiological identity of that natural person
Special categories of personal data:
- Data concerning health
